The Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering-built, 81,000-dwt Miraero Ace (built 2012), which was previously owned by Korea’s KCH Shipping, has gone for $14.2m — largely in line with expectatations — in a deal that includes a time charter to Cargill until May 2017, with options to extend until the following November at an index-linked rate.
The company’s fleet included four Hyundai Vinashin-built supramaxes — the 55,000-dwt Capital, Sharp, World and Secret (all built 2013) — that were acquired from Turkey’s Geden Lines for $10m each in January.
