Well-placed industry insiders believe Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCL) will be next to knock on the door of European cruiseship builders with new orders.
TradeWinds is told that NCL is currently working on new platform designs for its mass-market NCL division and upscale Oceania operation.
It is only a matter of time before it moves ahead with the orders.
NCL already has a pair of 163,000-gt cruiseships being built at Meyer Werft that are due for delivery 2018 and 2019 but its industry peers have already been rushing to grab yard capacity well into the next decade.
