Masamichi Morooka has stepped down as chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and chief executive and president of NYK Bulk & Projects as a 40-year career in shipping — spent mostly in containers — starts to wind down.
He has not left the shipping scene entirely and is an advisor to the NYK board and an executive for a start-up investment company linked to the Japanese container ports of Yokohama and Kawasaki
But Morooka has one eye on retirement and is already dreaming of spending his time travelling with his wife.
