The US-listed subsea contractor says it has landed the contract as part of a multi-year agreement with oil major Shell. The job is initially related to about 20 miles (32 kilometres) of pipelines and associated umbilicals at the Fairley and Ampa fields off Brunei.

The contract with Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) will employ McDermott’s 128-metre heavylift pipelayer DB 30 (built 1975, upgraded 2013), which has a 2,800-ton main crane and accommodation for 300 personnel.

The
