The Samho-built, 75,000-dwt Elpis 1 (built 2001) has gone for further trading to an undisclosed buyer for $4.1m.
The price is $800,000 above the vessel’s estimated demolition value.
The Elpis 1 was made available for inspection in Tianjin, China, early in June and appears to have been sold shortly afterwards. It passed special survey in May and, coming from a quality owner, meant it was an attractive purchase alternative for a buyer of vintage bulkers.
