The future of Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co (SOE) looks bleak, with operations halted since early this month and the shipyard’s potential new owner backing out of the transaction.
But yard founder Simon Liang (Liang Xiaolei) tells TradeWinds that he and his would-be buyer, Hong Kong-listed CIMC Enric, are working together despite their disagreements to keep customers from abandoning the Nantong yard’s orderbook of gas carriers.
