The Hyundai Vinashin-built, 81,000-dwt AMS Pegasus 1 and AMS Pegasus 2 (both built 2012) are said to have been bought for $12.5m each.
The ships are controlled by Kmarin of South Korea.
Transmed is listed with a modern fleet of 19 ships, eight of which are post-panamaxes.
In March, the company was said to have bought the 169,000-dwt bulker C Winner (built 2008) for just $10.8m
