The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) remains locked in negotiations with tug officers and engineers’ unions on the eve of inaugurating the waterway’s expansion.

A union leader says the continued labour wrangling could impact the pace that it ramps up traffic in the new lane of locks, which are set to open on Sunday, if the talks drag on — although the ACP denies this.
