On Tuesday, another four gas carriers transited, including the Astomos Energy-owned, 83,000-cbm Astomos Earth, (built 2012), Petredec’s 84,000-cbm Secreto (built 2016), the NYK-owned Lucina Providence (built 2008) and Avance’s 83,000-cbm Breeze (built 2015).

Ivan de la Guardia, the head of the union representing tugboat crews, says the early impression from his group’s members is each ship is taking between three and four hours to move through each set of locks on the Atlantic and the Pacific sides.
