In the next couple of weeks we will find out what management consultant McKinsey thinks should happen to South Korean yards.

The results of that report commissioned by shipbuilders will have an enormous bearing not just on local yards, but globally.

McKinsey will almost certainly recommend an enormous shake-up and a fast-forwarding of plans to shrink capacity.

The scale of the problems are easy to see for this industrial giant whose companies once led the world in vessel construction.
