The work will employ at least three of Saipem’s large marine assets and other offshore support vessels (OSVs) from this month.
Saipem says the “most significant” deal relates to the field-development project for the “supergiant” Zohr gas field off Egypt’s coast in the Mediterranean Sea.
The contract was awarded by Petrobel, a joint venture between Egyptian General Petroleum Corp (EGPC) and Eni, Saipem’s parent.
