Celsius Shipping has snapped up an ultramax bulker newbuilding from China’s Yangfan Group.
A source close to the deal says the Jeppe Jensen-led company acquired the 64,000-dwt bulker for close to $17m and will take delivery of the vessel early next month.
The newbuilding, which was earlier linked to BW Dry Cargo, was originally ordered by Italian owner D’Amico. It is one of six ultramaxes booked by D’Amico at the yard two years ago at a reported price of around $28m apiece.
