Brokers last week reported the sale of the 32,600-dwt Kanda 558 (built 2016) to unidentified buyers for $16.5m. The open-hatch, geared cargoship is currently in the final stages of construction at Kanda Shipbuilding in Kawajiri.
According to the Internet Ships Register (ISR), the Kanda 558 will be delivered to unidentified owners next month and then trade as Eco Bushfire II under the operation of Panama-based Everest Marine Corp — a company appearing for the first time in shipping reference sources.
