Executives at Gener8 Maritime, Euronav and Navios Maritime expressed expectations that the VLCC market would be able to absorb the flow of newbuildings, even after the summer’s descent into lower-than-expected spot rates.
That comes even as some Wall Street analysts have pulled down rate forecasts as jitters over demand grow at a time when a wave of newbuildings is hitting the water.
