London shipbrokers now know, finally, the colour of Singapore’s money. Baltic Exchange shareholders stand to earn over £86m ($113m) from the sale of the venerable freight market to the Asian country’s expansion-minded financial markets operator, Singapore Exchange (SGX).

Since the hush-hush sale process started late last year — with the market awash with talk, but the Baltic remaining buttoned up — progress has been glacial.
