The contract consists of six firm 1,162-teu units, plus six options spread over three stages, a yard executive tells TradeWinds.
The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2018, with subsequent units arriving at two-monthly intervals, the executive adds.
The yard declined to name the shipping company behind the contract but industry sources believe it to be Marlink Schiffahrtskontor.
