Talks continue between Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime and Cosco Shipyard Group over a series of up to eight long-range-two (LR2) tanker newbuildings worth around $320m.
Negotiations on the deal, which was first reported by TradeWinds in June, are understood to be focused on the technical specifications required by the owner for the 110,000-dwt ships.
A letter of intent for four LR2 products tankers, with an option on four more ships, was signed between Zodiac and the yard based on a price of $40m per ship.
