Simon Higginson and partner Lee Willis set up bogus broking companies to skim off commissions on business placed through Willis Group.
Higginson, a former executive director of Willis and his collaborator in crime, coincidentally also called Willis, set up companies Brokermarine and Enargee Consulting that managed to divert $2.3m over a 10-year period.
Higginson, 52, and Willis, 56, were sentenced to five and four years jail respectively at Southwark Crown Court in London after pleading guilty to conspiracy to defraud.
