The sale of a vintage VLGC from Japanese owner Astomos Energy appears to confirm that older units are taking a beating from the falling spot market, which now barely covers operating expenses.
The 78,000-cbm Pacific Century (built 1991) has been sold to a buyer in Thailand for just $6m to $6.2m.
There have been few sales of VLGCs this year.
