Spain’s Repsol is being linked to an LNG newbuilding contracted by BW LNG following a tender for shipping launched last year.
Industry sources say Repsol has selected BW to supply a vessel against a five-year period deal, with options to extend the business.
Full details have yet to emerge but they indicate that BW is expected to supply one of three uncommitted, 173,400-cbm LNG carrier newbuildings the company has on order at DSME in South Korea for delivery between 2017 and 2019.
