Testing starts on first LNG-FLNG conversion

Chief executive Oscar Spieler tells TradeWinds that the work will kick off at the end of October.

In a results briefing, Spieler said Golar was “on schedule” with the conversion of its previously laid-up, 126,200-cbm LNG carrier Hilli at Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard.

He says the company continues to work to a contractual completion date of 17 March 2017 but has a further four months beyond that before the unit has to be ready to leave by mid-to late July that year.
