Brokers report it has acquired the Fukuoka-built, 19,900-dwt Mid Fortune (built 2009) and Mid Nature (built 2011) for $21m and $23.5m, respectively, with three-year charters to Nordic Tankers.
However, Celsius Shipping executive chairman Jeppe Jensen denies such a deal. “We tied up one of the ships but no deal was finalised,” he said. Hansa Tankers chief executive Magne Morken also insists the ships have not been sold.
