Sources say Petrobras of Brazil has fixed the 309,000-dwt Olympic Liberty (built 2003) and the 320,000-dwt Olympic Leopard (built 2011) each for a year at $30,250 per day. The rate is in line with the latest 12-month deals, but far off the $55,000 per day for one-year deals when the market peaked.

For Olympic Liberty the deal means steady business, as Onassis ordered the ship for $75m and in February 2003 it was fixed for 10 years to ExxonMobil for in excess of $30,000 per day.
