Its 299,000-dwt Eco Seas (built 2016) has reportedly been taken by Koch for up to three months at $27,000 per day. The quartet was ordered at DSME for $97m each. The deal for the Eco Seas is still better than spot business, which is currently yielding some $10,000 to $20,000 per day.

The four VLCCs are owned by a joint venture between Anders Wilhelmsen’s company Awilco and US-based investor Wilbur Ross and his Transport Recovery Fund.
