Excelerate Energy is discharging the first commercial LNG cargo through its Northeast Gateway terminal off Boston.
Ship data show the 151,000-cbm LNG regasification vessel Explorer (built 2008) has arrived at the offshore buoy facility with a cargo understood to have been sourced from Egypt.
The company declared Northeast Gateway operational in December 2007 and executed a ‘dry run commissioning’ of the buoys and valves using the 138,000-cbm LNGRV Excelerate (built 2006).
