Total and Singapore’s Pavilion Energy will compete for LNG bunkering customers from 2020 with a new purpose-built vessel.

Total, which this week signed a binding heads of agreement with Pavilion to supply LNG as bunkers in the port of Singapore, said shipowners have been shortlisted to contract a 10,000-cbm LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV).

Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions managing director Olivier Jouny said an owner will be selected this year so that the vessel can be built in time for a fourth-quarter delivery in 2020.
