A dearth of commercial or shipping expertise among the 12 judges at the UK Supreme Court is jeopardising London's legal standing, top lawyers tell TradeWinds.

Two experienced maritime justices retired from the court last year, which barristers and lawyers fear has diminished the UK's expertise and influence in the shipping markets at a time when maritime hubs such as Singapore are assuming greater importance.
