Maersk is on the hunt for land-based logistics operations in an effort to expand that side of the company.

The Soren Skou-led giant bought Hamburg Sud for $4bn to solidify status as largest boxship company and now has trucking outfits and supply chain managers in its sight, the Financial Times reports.

The Danish company sold off its oil and energy concerns over the past two years as it tries to gather all of its businesses, including land logistics, into one company and do away with the conglomerate identity.
