Mining giant Anglo American has inked a newbuilding contract with China's Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) for two LNG-fuelled capesize newbuildings, said sources with knowledge of the deal.
The order for the 190,000-dwt bulkers marks Anglo American’s first foray into shipowning. It also means the company is now behind orders for a total of six dual-fuel bulkers to transport its cargoes.
