The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) briefly held a handymax bulker, operated by Dutch company MUR Shipping, in Geelong after non-compliant bunker fuel was found on board.

The detention was the first in Australia since a carriage ban on non-compliant fuel in Annex VI of Marpol came into effect on 1 March.
