Two bulkers have taken in water after colliding with each other in the Aegean Sea early on Saturday, Greek coastguards said.

The 12,800-dwt Afina I (built 2010) was sailing about 10 nautical miles (18.5 km) north-west of the island of Kythera when it and the 38,200-dwt Kiveli (built 2008) collided at 6.10am Greek time (0410 GMT).

Tugs arrived quickly to help the stricken ships, and no injuries to crew or pollution have been reported so far.
