Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers has returned to China State Shipbuilding Corp-controlled Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for its eighth semi-submersible heavylift ship order there since 1999.
In a regulatory filing, the Shanghai-listed company said it had contracted GSI to build a single 65,000-dwt vessel to be delivered in January 2024.
Cosco Shipping said the order was part of its fleet expansion and renewal programme.
