CSL Group is believed to have bought its second Japanese-built handysize bulker in three months.

The Canadian shipowner reportedly snapped up the 28,400-dwt Diana Island (built 2010) from Yahata Kisen of Japan for $8.5m, which is in line with market expectations.

It follows CSL Group’s $7.4m capture of the 28,400-dwt Cape Knox (built 2006) in April.

Attempts to reach CSL for comment before TradeWinds went to press were unsuccessful.
