Grindrod Shipping has posted a second half loss of $16.4m dragged down by a series of non-cash impairments.

Revenue was down about 2.5% year-on-year to $163.8m, but this was largely offset by lower voyage expenses and charter hire costs.

The weaker second half performance means the Singapore-based shipowner posted a full-year loss of $34.6m
