Denmark’s Lauritzen Bulkers has completely renewed its fleet during a year that saw it make more money despite falling rates.

The handysize operator and shipowner, owned by J Lauritzen, said on Friday that its operating profit from core dry bulk activities was $115m in 2022, compared to $91m the year before.

Chief executive Niels Josefsen said this was the best result for more than a decade.
