QC Shipping Investments, a joint venture set up six years ago by Swiss trading house Quadra Commodities and Athens-based Erasmus Shipinvest, has offloaded its last ship at a profit.

Several brokers report that the 76,100-dwt QC Matilde (built 2002) was sold for about $10.8m to undisclosed buyers. Ship-management sources in Athens confirmed that a deal for the Japanese-built vessel has been concluded, but at “a much higher price”.

The QC Matilde was one of the two panamax bulkers that QC Shipping acquired in its market debut in 2015.
