Star Bulk Carriers has reported a better-than-expected profit for the fourth quarter, despite a slump in revenue compared with the same period of 2019.

The New York-listed owner of 116 bulkers on Wednesday reported a profit of $27.8m in the fourth quarter, up from $23.5m a year earlier.

But adjusted net income slumped to $29.5m, down from $34.3m.
