A Turkish-owned general cargoship has been seized off Libya by rebel forces despite a truce in the country's civil war.

The 8,500-dwt Jamaica-flagged Mabrooka (built 2005) was intercepted and detained by the Libyan National Army (LNA) off Ras al-Hilal on 5 December.

The incident is a possible new flashpoint in the country's civil conflict after weeks of ceasefire.
