The owner of a Greek tanker suspected by Brazilian authorities to have caused an oil spill that washed up on its Atlantic coast last month said on Saturday it was not at fault and that it had evidence to prove it.

Diamantis Diamantides-controlled Delta Tankers had already said in an initial statement on Friday that its 164,000-dwt suezmax Bouboulina (built 2006), had an uneventful voyage and discharged without cargo shortage in July, when Brazilian authorities believe the oil leak happened.
