A seafarer has lost their life following an accident on a Bahri tanker off the Netherlands.

The fatal incident occurred on the Saudi Arabian state shipowner’s 46,000-dwt chemical carrier NCC Bahri (built 2011) off the coast of Egmond on Wednesday night.

The Dutch Safety Board (DSB) said on Twitter that another crew member was seriously injured in the accident.

Dutch media reported an explosion on board, but Bahri has said this is not the case.
