Six containers dropped into the sea near the south entry of the Turkish straits after a storm blew them off the general cargoship carrying them.

The incident occurred on 6 January near the Aegean island of Bozcaada, just to the south of the Dardanelles. Storms reaching 110 kilometres (68 miles) per hour were sweeping the area at the time.
