All 18 crew were safely taken off a burning tanker off Singapore on Thursday.
The blaze broke on the 8,900-dwt Hoyu (built 2009) nearly 10 nautical miles north-east of Pedra Branca, a lighthouse island and the most easterly part of the country.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in a statement that the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Singapore Police Coast Guard and the Republic of Singapore Navy deployed vessels to render assistance to the crew.
