Ecochlor says it will retrofit 36 vessels owned by John Angelicoussis with its ballast water treatment system (BWTS) kit.

The contract will cover suezmaxes, aframaxes, VLCCs, mini-capesizes and capesizes owned by Angelicoussis Shipping Group. Installations will take place between 2018 and 2020 in Singapore, Dubai, Qatar and China.

Ecochlor says Maran Tankers Management, which manages the Angelicoussis tanker assets, was looking for BWTS kit "with low power consumption and a minimal environmental footprint, along with providing a safe, easy-to-operate option for their crew(s)."
