A Hamburg Sud neo-panamax containership had suffered a hull breach after hitting a ferry pier in Brazil.
The incident occurred as the 9,669-teu Cap San Antonio (built 2014) was leaving the port of Santos on the afternoon of 20 June.
Video footage showed a gash in the boxship's port side hull just above the waterline, through which ballast water was pouring.
