One of the four suspected pirates captured after a gun battle with Danish troops in the Gulf of Guinea has had a leg amputated.
The operation was carried out on the Danish frigate Esbern Snare due to the severity of wounds to his lower limb, according to Danish admiral Carsten Fjord-Larsen, who was speaking to DR News.
The suspect's condition was described as stable.
