The maritime community of Cyprus, one of the world's biggest shipmanagement hubs, said on Thursday it is running out of patience with the world's lax attitude towards pirates in the Gulf of Guinea.

The statement comes just a few hours after a Greek company said it secured the release of ten of its crew members from the hands of pirates — most likely after becoming the latest in a string of owners succumbing to pirates' ransom demands.
