Taiwanese liner operator Wan Hai Line is upping an order for neo-panamax container ships newbuildings in South Korea to a dozen vessels costing $2.4bn.

The company has inked a contract for a further four dual-fuel methanol-ready boxships with HD Heavy Industries and Samsung Heavy Industries.

The order adds to eight ships of the same size the liner operator ordered at the two South Korean yards last October for about $1.6bn.
