Alibaba-linked Transfar Shipping has moved further into shipowning with the purchase of three feeder container ships in a $110m en-bloc deal.
The company is securing two 1,800-teu newbuilding resales as well as the 1,732-teu A Daisen (built 2010) from the fleet of China’s StarOcean Marine.
The newbuildings are set for delivery in September and December for a price of around $43m each, say European brokers.
