Germany’s Briese Schiffahrt is doubling its orderbook of feeder containerships in China.
The Leer-based shipowner has signed for four 1,800-teu vessels at the privately owned Huanghai Shipbuilding, based in Shandong.
Managing director Wilke Briese confirmed the order, which involves vessels to be delivered from Huanghai in 2023.
The booking comes two months after the German owner signed up to build four 1,930-teu containerships at China's Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard.
