CMA CGM has revealed details of its team-up with renewable energy firm Engie to scale up the use of carbon-neutral fuels in shipping.

The companies have formed an "industrial and strategic partnership" designed to increase the production of synthetically manufactured methane gas and liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG).

It gives the French liner operator the option of investing in industrial projects that produce synthetic methane, including by means of multiyear purchase commitments, the company said.
